The inventor of the MULTIWIR packings was Jan Kwaśniak, PhD Eng (05.01.1939 – 10.10.2021)

a graduate and long-term employee of the Lodz University of Technology, DAAD scholarship holder and Humboldt Scholarship holder at Clausthal-Zellerfeld Technical University.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Jan Kwaśniak, PhD Eng, conducted experimental research on the gas flow characteristics inside the structure of alternately arranged layers of parallel slats. He performed series of experiments using a resistance anemometer, which allowed him to determine the velocity profile inside the vortices and to mathematically describe the phenomenon. He also conducted experimental studies of the dust removal efficiency of MULTIWIR packings using a cascade impactor.
Jan Kwaśniak, PhD Eng, was the first owner of the Multiwir company (1991 – 2019).
