MULTIWIR SCRUBBER is a cylindrical apparatus designed for separation of sugar-dust particles from the outlet air stream of the sugar dryer or cooler.
It is equipped with two sets of Multiwir packing made of polypropylene and placed on grates in the middle and upper part of the vessel. The lower part is a tank with overflow, connected to a pump and a system for automatic regulation of the sugar concentration in the circulating liquid.

The air cleaning process is two-stage. The first stage is dust removal, which takes place on the lower packing, which is continuously sprinkled with juice concentrated to approx. 50 Bx. The second stage is droplet removal on the upper packing, which can be periodically sprinkled from below with hot thin juice or water. Dust particles and droplets are being thrown onto the packing surface thanks to the action of centrifugal force, which is generated during the rotational flow of air jet streams in each of the the packing channels.
